Have you asked for a test for Meniéres disease? This affects the middle ear, and thus your balance. It is not dangerous or curable, but it is progressive. It is controlled with drugs. See your GP
Sometimes the fitting of grommits in the ears cures it, ask your Doc or Audio specialist.
Even if your hearing is fine, you may end up with a hearing aid as they can mask Tinnitus.
Go to a specialist and get blood work and swab test done.
Have doctor take sample on Q’ Tips from the ear and test for germs.
Tetanus, will kill you by now, but —–, ?
I assume that the Docs you have seen have had a good look inside your ear canals to check if there is a build up of wax as this can cause big problems with ringing in the ears.I had this badly myself a few weeks ago – just oke up with it – and I know well it can drive you nuts! I just inserted same ear drops and a little piece of cotton wool relentlessly for a few days and it went.Doesn´t sound like your Doctor is too helpful…COUNSELLING?????? Moronic.
I have had tinnitus for 3 and a half years now, doctors have tried many things, ear drops, putting olive oil in my ear to prevent build up off wax. I have had many hearing test they have all come back fine showing no sign of damage to my ears.
I have just stared see a specialist at my local hospital for counseling, its not what it sounds like, it is very helpful. he has just explained what tinnitus is and what may be causing it in more depth and understanding then my GP. they have given me a noise box to play while i am sleeping to try and mask the ringing, it took a while to get used to but it does help sometimes. they also gave me a CD with relaxation techniques on it to help lower stress, I have found this very useful and does help with the tinnitus – it does not stop it or get rid of it but it help take your concentration off of it. it also helps with general stress.
I highly recommend going to the counseling sessions as they will help and give you support. and it probably the best way to help you treat your tinnitus.
