How to stop, cure or ignore tinnitus?

It’s driving me insane, keeping me up at nights and even makes me feel depressed and suicidal. Sad, I know but I can’t block it it out. Please help, I have bought ebooks and CDs, visited doctors and audiologists and nothing has helped. Its haunting me, please help.

Questions about tinnitus?

I was diagnosed with tinnitus not too long ago, and was wondering if their was anything that could help me cope with the ringing. I have tried using back ground noise (a fan that sits near my bed on high, but it only blocks out one pitch, other days it will only block out two [those days I have maybe three pitches]) I was given two pamphlets, and one said to try out vitamin B-12 supplements. Do they work?

ALSO, can tinnitus be caused by earthquakes or anything of the like? My tinnitus started around the time of the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami/Power plant thing, so I was wondering if there might be some sort of connection. Other then that, I have no clue where it came from. I don’t listen to loud music, and I haven’t been to a concert since seventh grade (I am not going into tenth.)

Well, thanks for you time.

Woke up to complete hearing loss in left ear?

Hi all I have had probs with ears since I was 11mths old, Doc’s told me i will go eventually deaf, I have a disease of the middle ear. I woke up 3 weeks ago and was completely deaf in my left ear and no it is not wax, I have tinnitus (however you spell it). The tinnitus is deff louder it is a constant loud ringing, my other symptoms are feels like pressure in my ear, constantly feel light headed, have dizziness this happens about 3-4 times a day and I have to sit down otherwise I start to feel very sick, also just above my left ear when my ear starts to hurt my head swells and can be quite painful. I have tried to get an appointment with my doc to be honest it is a complete joke you have to ring in the morning or afternoon at a certain time and there are never any empty slots, I need to know if my hearing is going to comeback or will I stay completely deaf and if the symptoms i have could be something serious?

Thank you

Debra

My father has tinnitus from all the loud sounds that come along with being a firefighter. Today, he started complaining about how he can’t focus when he tries to barbecue because supposedly the smoke makes the ringing in his ears so much worse that he can’t focus on barbecuing. If the smoke is the problem, how can we make it less problematic when he’s barbecuing? Thank you.
You didn’t answer my main question.

How can doctors tell if someone truly has tinnitus?

What causes Tinnitus?

I always experience this "ringing of the ear." What maybe the cause of this. Some say because of noise. Is this really true?

donated blood (double red cells) july 27. next day noticed high pitch ring in ears. Went to ENT, no wax no infection, passed hearing test except for higher frequencies. went to my dr, he told me that maybe because of sudden loss of 20% of my red cells may lowered blood flow thru ear. anybody ever hear of this? is this tinnitus permanent?

burning cold feeling in my left foot serious?

Im a 28 yr old female, not overweight.I do have anxiety, with tinnitus as well…I havent found out the reason for the tinnitus, but Today, for the first time I suddenly felt my left foot get a hot/cold sensation, then up to my knee it kinda feels like it wants to go to sleep.Or how it feels when it goes to sleep then starts to fade away…that type of feeling. It happened this afternoon.and is still there,I called the dr who said to come in tommarrow if it still stood tht way.I also felt like i was coming down with some sort of flu…tired, pressure headache, burning eyes.So since I have anxiety, its making me a litlle scared.I read tinnitus and this foot symptom can be poor circulation,a result from something bigger…
btw,Ive seen an ent,had a physical and blood work done, they said it came back fine…about a month ago…

Vast majority of the pain didn’t occur until after using a mouthguard. Before that I just had pain in and around my mouth. Now I have pain throughout my face, jaw, and ears(tinnitus).
Hard and soft mouthguards have both made the pain worse and encouraged more clenching
Wiggling toes? Uh ok. I don’t think I should be sticking a pencil in my mouth when I sleep at night. Stress is a symptom but not an underlying cause.
I have also been taking Flexeril before bed time and Naproxen and Robaxin during the day. I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol and get plenty of exercise.
I have used three nightguards(2 soft, 1 hard) and all 3 made the pain worse. The 2nd soft one initially worked great when all I had was oral pain but after 3 weeks of wearing it I had an explosion of pain throughout my face, jaw, neck, head and ears.
