I’ve recently been taking Metformin but switched to Glucophage at my doctor’s instructions and also boosted my daily prescription of Glimepiride from 1/2 mg to 2 mg. Concurrent with these actions I began having a 24/7 ringing in my ears!

Hey guys one of my friends has been suffering from ringing in the ears, also known as tinnitus ever since we came from that concert a week ago. Does anyone know of any good homeopathic treatment for tinnitus, that are simple and fairly easy to do.

I’ve suffered from tinnitus since May 11, 1996. I’ve had to accept the fact that these awful noises will never go away for the rest of my life, but what I can’t accept is the (sometimes intense) soreness, tingling, etc., in my ears as well as slight pains in my jaws and headaches which have all cropped up in recent years. Aspirin, Tylenol, etc., have little or no effect. Obviously tinnitus is not self-correcting which is why I haven’t noticed any improvement since I swore off headphones and loud music a couple of years ago (all of you I-Pod users out there, be warned).

A bit of background: I’m a 32 year-old male in excellent physical health with no history of head trauma or infectious disease (e.g. Meniere’s); my tinnitus was caused entirely by use of headphones. Amazingly, an ENT has tested me and told me that my hearing is still perfect despite the tinnitus. And, I don’t have any other tinnitus-related symptoms such as insomnia or vertigo.

Any suggestions?

Has anyone ever experienced Tinnitus in their ears for long periods of time?

Sound Therapy is where patients listen to constantly alternating sounds which supposedly rehabilitate the ear. A naturapath told me she gave her brother Gingko Bil.. stuff and it made no difference to his tinnitus. Tebonin is made of the same stuff, so doesn’t sound (oops) promising. Any comments appreciated. Not really much of a Q but has anyone tried???

I have been suffering from tinnitus in my right ear since 10 yrs.Taking Vit E, and heavy dose of B12, Ginko Biloba were of no use.

I am a thirty year old with little singing experience and recently discovered I may have tinnitus. I used to sing in high school from a natural ability and recently got back to learning it. However, I am having trouble replicating what I am supposed to be hearing. Is there any correctional technique?

Having had help for hiatus hernia and atrial fibrillation from these pages I now have another condition to deal with – I can’t believe that this is all happening to me this year.
Ttwo weks ago my right ear became completely blocked so that I couldn’t hear anything in it. My doctor said that the wax was solid and told me to use Otex until I came back from holiday and he would syringe it. The Otex gave me ringing in that ear . My ear has now been syringed (it was still completely blocked) but the ringing persists only much quieter. Although he said it must be tinnitus I think there is still some wax deep down in the ear but he says it is all out. Why did the tinnitus come on by using Otex? I would like to try alternative remedies but as I am on Warfarin and beta blockers there is not much I can have.
Any ideas, please, as the ringing is driving me mad.
