Ruptured Ear Drum…?

Okay, just an hour ago my brother awoke me by taking one of his stupid spring airsoft guns and shot me in the right ear, it was empty, but right when he did so, my right ear drum (I’m assuming) burst.

Now, the symptoms I’m getting are:

-Dizziness (went away in minutes)
-Fluid like liquid escaping from my ear (note: no blood)
-HUGE hearing loss, but I can still hear (barely)
-Loud ringing noise in my right ear; tinnitus

Everything else is fine.

Also, for my brother, he’s only 6 years old, and I didn’t blame him, or do anything to him, so don’t worry about him.

WORSE part of this is though, I’m 17 years old, possess no license, and I’m home alone with my brother since my parents are gone for 2 weeks visiting my sick aunt in Florida, so I have no way of going to the emergency room.

Should I be worried? I’ve already googled this problem, and many people said it heals perfectly fine and your hearing goes back to the way it should, but I’m still worried.

Did my ENT doctor give me tinnitus?

My ENT Doctor cleaned my left ear because it was very very clogged. After that he put antibiotics in it. And I read online that putting antibiotics in the ear will give me tinnitus..Thing is, I only hear the noise if I’m inside a building, when I’m outside I don’t hear it.

Tinnitus Question????

what makes your tinnitus worse?? i have it nearly a year and a half got very good latelly but all of a sudden today i have a white bread sandwich which i never usually have and small bit after my tinnitus in one ear went mad seemed blocked would it have being the bread in general it got very good but bad again today would it be congestion?? does bread cause congestion?? plus would cold weather case it ??
it was great last 2 months just today started its only one ear that is bad now seems all clogged up like maybe just sinus has it blocked or maybe nose is congested alot the last week as well

Will a hearing aid make tinnitus worse? Or better?

My mother has tinnitus and she needs a hearing aid in the near future but she is reluctant because she thinks it might make the tinnitus worse. I think it might make it better because tinnitus is not an outside sound. Any experiences with this?

I’m 22, it has been constant for 6 years now as a result of Meniere’s disease. It is unbearably loud 90% of the time.

It also caused deafness in my right ear, so white noise doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tried pretty much every non-surgical tinnius treatment. what can I do?

thanks so much

i have just been given betahistine 16mg for tinnitus and vertigo
but i have yet to try it
can those of you who have tried it tell me:
did the betahistine make your symptoms go or did it make them worse?
how long before you saw any GOOD improvements?
what did the tablet taste like was it bitter or sweet? (strange question i know-but there is good reason why i ask!)

i am a real wimp when comes to medication.so your experience would be nice
please only answer if you yourself have tried it though

1. I always listen to my ipod and other music at rather low volumes. One day however, i accidentally turned it on full at the max for about 5 seconds. It was the ONLY time. Just 1-2 days after that experience, i started experiencing mildringing in my ears (tinnitus). Can i be totally sure that this is what caused my tinnitus?

2. I went to 2 doctors. The first doc looked into my ear and told me nothing’s physically wrong and said it was temporary. So gave me DUXARIL for 1 week to improve blood circulation to promote my ear nerves to heal. After 1 week, NO difference.
I went to second doctor. As i told him that i might have slight sinus in the mornings/slightly sensitive nose (not blocked nose though), he said might be because of some congestion in ears. Gave me some med for sinus as well as GINKO BILOBA. The ringing becames slightly more tolerable. I’m not sure if it’s my brain which got used to the ringing or if the med worked. Doc told me to take for a week too. A week later, no more improvement too.

I went back to first doc who gave me a month’s supply of DUXARIL. I think he misunderstood when i said improvement because of the med. He probably thought that his med was working. Should i just continue with his med?

The doc told me that if i don’t heal after finishing it, i can consider going to an ENT specialist. Is this appropriate? Or is the ringing something to worry about? Should i do as he suggested?

I’m 15 by the way and i no longer listen to my ipod/earphones as often because i’m scared to make things worse. Will my ears ever heal? How possible and how long will it take?

Please try to answer all questions. I know it was way lengthy but i’d appreciate it if you can give me a more indepth answer. Thanks alot. (:
I’m not sure about the over reacting part but it has been ringing for 3-4 weeks already… THAT’S why i’m worried.
Also, if it is not the music, what caused it? That mysterious cause is also kinda worrying. I admit i;m a paranoid person but yeah. (:

I’m 18, and I love music so much that I forget to take care of my ears. But I honestly do not use earphones,mp3s, etc too much. I wonder why some people actually do not get the tinnitus or any hearing damage when they put to their ears some magnanimous VOLUME. I don’t want this tinnitus to go on forever. I’m still young (I think) and I still want to listen to music. And I don’t want any surgery or whatever.
