tinnitus can occur with out hearing loss.
infact it is a common problem. many time it is temporary and goes away with in minutes or days or week after it was first noticed.....
It is often a sign, early warning sign that something is wrong with ears. When we find no hearing loss associated with it, we audiologist/ doctors tend to advice people to ignore it a little.

sometimes some medications to improve blood supply to the ears or nasal decongestants tend to help. But overall if tinnitus is not too loud, then better to ignore it.
There is a learning phenomenon to it, emotions , negative once when associated with it, llike depression, etc it tends to be permanent. if u tend to not pay any importance then it has a better chance of going away.

chronic tinnitus patients tend to do well with tinnitus maskers . look at hansaton-usa.com
for those devices...
excessive listening to loud music, some medications llike aspirin tend to bring it on too.

There is no cure for tinnitus. Sometimes it comes without hearing loss. Listening to white noise makes it better- buy a fan or a white noise generator.

Actually, it's pretty common as we age. There are so many causes except for medical cause. First, you must find the cause and then had better cure it naturally. I searched the web and found some helpful info:
