sometimes will get better, I don't want to say I told you so but I see this all the time, young kids listening to loud music.

I have had tinnitus since 1993, it happened after a bad ear infection, and it's no fun.
Avoid soda, coffee, salty foods etc. There are natural things you can get at the drug store today.
One is an ear drop, it doesnt' cure it but I guess will help at night when you are trying to sleep.

My doctor actually made some jokes when I told him about it. well it's no joke sometimes mine gets really loud.

Yes, sometimes, if there hasn't been permanent hearing loss.

I have had Tinnitus my entire life (for as far back as I can remember) and it has never gone away nor lessened. It's always there in the background and only a dull noise takes it away. When bedtime rolls around, I need a fan to sleep because even when it's quiet...it's loud because of the ringing. This is the case for many sufferers of Tinnitus.

I was told a few years ago (I am 20 years old, so was probably 16 or closer to 17) when I was getting wax cleaned from my ears that it was likely that I may go deaf later in life from inner ear damage due to loud music/sound. It is possible that yours may go away, but I would see a doctor about this to get a true answer and opinion.

Tinnitus can change pitch, it can also go as suddenly as it turned up.
Can, that is.
You're doing the best thing by avoiding loud music, now.
It was your MP3 player, you can do what you like with it.
For more practical help, tips of how to cope with tinnitus & contact details for the British Tinnitus Association, see links below.
I have hyperacusis & tinnitus.
So I do sympathise.
