does this stop you from hearing your tinnitus?

hey!
im trying to figure out if i have tinnitus
ive had a ringing sound in one of my ears for a few days
i cant really hear it during the day, but i can in quiet rooms/when i try to sleep
i find that if i pull the back of my ear forward, so that it covers the ear hole, i cant hear the ringing sound
does that happen for other people with tinnitus?

As you have only had the symptoms for couple of days sounds more llike an infection or virus. Suggest that if it carries on and you are worried get your gp to check it out.
If you have tinnitus your gp will be able to diagnose it for you.
