Tinnitus Archives

My father has tinnitus from all the loud sounds that come along with being a firefighter. Today, he started complaining about how he can’t focus when he tries to barbecue because supposedly the smoke makes the ringing in his ears so much worse that he can’t focus on barbecuing. If the smoke is the problem, how can we make it less problematic when he’s barbecuing? Thank you.
You didn’t answer my main question.

How can doctors tell if someone truly has tinnitus?

donated blood (double red cells) july 27. next day noticed high pitch ring in ears. Went to ENT, no wax no infection, passed hearing test except for higher frequencies. went to my dr, he told me that maybe because of sudden loss of 20% of my red cells may lowered blood flow thru ear. anybody ever hear of this? is this tinnitus permanent?

Tinnitus Solutions Please Help Me?

I suffer with tinnitus and I know that there is some excellent solutions to either easing it, or getting rid of it all together which would be great. So is there anyone out there who suffers with it, and have managed to get rid of it. If so can you please advise me what worked for you, and let me know any solutions you may have that can help.

The buzzing sound is unbearable.suffering from it since 20 years Yet to find a doctor who says this is the cure.Had 4 attacks of vertigo since 20 years .It recedes on its one in about 3 weeks.
I had taken Theraflu (sachet full) the cold medicine, previous night before the latest attack of vertigo.

when im falling asleep all of a sudden i’ll get this rush of wind sound in my ears and its really uncomfortable. sometimes it disturbs me trying to fall asleep so i have to put in earphones and listen to music to make it stop. ive heard of something called tinnitus but it can’t be that cuase its not a high pitched sound. what could this be?

or if it can be harmful?

i have slight hearing loss in my right ear due to going shooting with my dad and not wearing ear protection ( we only shot 2 shots of a .308) my hearing was slightly impaired for a few days after but my left ear has fully healed. i have tinnitus in my right ear and only slight hearing loss i can hear people talking perfectly fine only quite very soft sounds i cant hear out of my right ear.. is this enough to make me fail a hearing test administered by the marines? there for denying my entry?

If you could include a link with this it would be appreciated. If not, just a yes or no. I want to know basically over the last 10 years if it is on the increase.
