I’ve had maaany problems with my ears within the past year. From one infection to another. I’ve stopped using cotton buds ages ago, after my first infection, so that’s not causing them.
Anyway, I had, (what I think was) a ruptured ear drum in my right ear. I had all the symptoms of it, and there was yellow discharge coming out, but my doctor said that my ear drum was still intact. He gave me penicillin and ear drops, but I still had terrible tinnitus in both ears, but worse in my right ear.
I’m still suffering from really loud tinnitus, but he said it would go and I should try to ignore it for now. He also said that he noticed some redness in my right ear (my left has cleared up fine after all its been though) and gave me EarCalm spray to put in my ear twice daily. Its for the treatment of minor ear infections of the outer ear. The problem is that my ear feels really stuffed and the tinnitus has been worse ever since I first put it in my ear. I’m not sure what to think of it, and I am quite worried about my hearing, because of how many problems I have with them all the time. Please help me.
My tinnitus is much louder in my right ear, and it’s the weird stuffy feeling I get because of my ear drops that is worrying me, along with the tinnitus getting worse. I am certain that the EarCalm ear-drops are causing that. Am I allergic? Should I stop taking them, or just carry on, since my doctors knows best, I suppose?

I developed a ringing/buzzing noise in my right ear on aug 22nd 2009. After a trauma due to slap to the ear that burst my eardrum. The ENT thinks the slap also caused slight nerve damage. So ever since that day it’s been 24/7 ringing.
Some people can live with it like it’s not even a issue, but as far for me it’s really effected my physiology. Sometimes people will come back with "It’s not life threaten and atleast you do not have cancer or any missing limbs" which it 100% true and my heart goes out to anyone that has gone threw this. Yet many times the person that is saying this has not gone threw the torment of tinnitus.
Many times All I hear is no cure/no hope when it comes to Tinnitus. Yet I’m fighting this tinnitus as hard as I can. The doctor gave me prednisone which is a steroid that promotes healing. I workout 20-60 min cardio and some weightlifting to de-stress my body 5 days out of the week. I quit smoking, cut back on my drinking, very light not daily. It’s not as loud but doesn’t mean its not as annoying. I often get discouraged when I don’t see improvement in the ringing after many, many lifestyle changes. That is the battle I’m going through. I wanna work toward the goal of banishing tinnitus but if I see no improvement. What’s the motivation to do better? I try to avoid loud places like sporting events and concerts things I ENJOYED dearly before the tinnitus. I am thankful that I do not notice my tinnitus in my daily life as much, i’m a full time student and whenever I’m outside for whatever reason the ringing is not there. So I can feel blessed in that regard.
Since the accident I’m on Valium and Lexapro not just because of my tinnitus but it was a major reason I sought out help. I do suffer from depression and anxiety, I used to get high and I wont lie getting high is pleasant but if I could pick drugs or a sober happy, peaceful life I would pick sober. I regret getting wasted in my past. I should of got help with my depression and not self medicate with alcohol and drugs.
And got out of the abusive relationship with a female that cause the damage in the first place. People think it’s funny or doesn’t happen but men can be victims of domestic abuse as well as women.
I just want a second chance at life. Has tinnitus effecting anyone else life this deeply? What are some useful tips/drugs? Should I keep fighting for the cure?

A couple of months ago I had an itchy spot on my right ankle. I thought it was a mosquito bite. In a week or two it turned red and two more spots showed up; one above the original and one up behind my knee on the same Leg and they itched. I didn’t think too much of them. I don’t think they had the ring around them which is common with Lyme infected ticks. Then for no apparent reason, I began experiencing crippling pain in the hip of the same leg. I could barely stand up straight when I got out of bed, but it subsided after walking around at bit, and almost went away as the day progressed. Now the pain is chronic and moves from middle hip to upper hip. Sometimes it almost goes away, then comes back. It is definitely painful and bothersome. Then a few weeks later I lost half of my hearing in the right ear and have a bad tinnitus in the same ear. I thought it may be wax build up, but that apparently is not the case. I read that tinnitus and hearing loss is not common with Lyme but it does happen. So, my question is, can these symptons be Lyme? I didn’t have a fever, but did have a mild sore throat for a few days. I am very concerned. My doctor did order tests even though she assured me Lyme does not occur in the desert. But I know tests are not reliable. It’s been 6 or 7 weeks since I noticed the red rash, and I know my time is running out for an easy treatment. Please let me know if any of this sounds like Lyme.

Is the accuracy of the RPR test still accurate 10-14 years after suspected contraction of syphilis? Had what I thought was an ingrown hair on my inside upper thigh. It went away in a week or two. Then later had a rash on the palms of both hands that I thought was a reaction to a floor cleaner. Don’t think I had that too long either, maybe less than a week. No other symptoms that I know of. 10-14 years later had an RPR card test in the hospital. Do not know the results but I was in for depression for 18 days and the records do not show any treatment with penicillin so I assume it was negative.
Fast forward to today, 24 years after the RPR test. (35-40 years after suspected incident). Have had a rash on my right torso which my doctor visually called herpes. Could be shingles. No blisters just a rash. (P.S.-Have been married and monogamous for 27 years.) The rash itches and lasts for about four weeks at a time. Over the past three years the rash has gotten to be less. Also, starting ten years ago I have had spastic colin for a couple of years, hives for two years, tinnitus, hemorhoids, aching knees (probably all old age). Anyway—should I be concerned and get another RPR test? Would it actually be correct after all these years if it was negative?
Sure would like an answer since this is worrying me some. Boy–sometimes the mistakes of the past do haunt you.
Thanks.

I have been suffering from mild tinnitus(ringing ears) for a couple of months now. I want to first find the cause of it. I’m 15 btw.
I naturally have a unaligned jaw. From a scal of 0-10, how possible is this the cause of TMJ/TMD and therefore tinnitus?
A few weeks after my tinnitus started, i started having weird mild neck uncomfortableness. Hahas. Like a feeling to stretch my neck/roll it around. Not sure if this is just in my mind though.
Also, if it it, how can i cure it? Expensive treatment?
More info on other cause or explainations are very much appreciated.
Thanks.

I never listen to overly loud music except this one thime a couple of days before the tinnitus started. I accidentally played my ipod at the max for about 5 or less seconds. I don’t think it is that significant to cause such damage though. (:
