Tinnitus Symptoms Archives

I have been light headed/ with dizzyness and vertigo 24 hours a day 7 days a week for over 2 months already!
I’m not anemic or diabetic or have any neurological issues, I have had an MRI with contrast of my brain and a CT scan too.
I have also have pulsatile tinnitus to go along with these symptoms.

I went to an ENT because I am more than sure I might have something wrong with my inner ears (eg:labyrinthitis) He did not find any fluid inside my ears so it is not Meniere’s disease.

Are all inner ear disorders or viruses easy to find? Or are there special tests to determine If you have one or not?
I’ve had many sinus infections in the past and I have read that you usually get labyrinthitis after a upper respiratory (sp?) infection…

I’d like to know if somebody has experienced similar symptoms as I’ve been having for a while. I’m a 22-year-old female, I study computer science and have to spend long hours a day at my computer (8 AM – 10 PM with a lunch break is no exception). By the beginning of March, my younger sister contracted flu (sinus infection maybe) and I thought I’d caught it from her then. I had fever and strong headaches for 2 days but I went to school/work anyway and it went away with paracetamol. A week later, the headaches returned: my head would start throbbing in the sides (between the temples and the ears) the moment I lay down to bed in the evening (i.e. the pain was limited to the horizontal position – as soon as I sat down, it went away and I didn’t feel anything in the morning). I wouldn’t get this kind of headache every evening but I discovered it was triggered or worsened by stress, depression and crying (I had just gone through a particularly painful breakup with my boyfriend). Sometimes, I even felt pain in my head after coughing, sneezing or bending.
I eliminated all contact with my ex this Monday and I’ve only had very slight headaches since. However, I’ve been experiencing other problems: for a couple of days, I’ve been feeling pulsatile tinnitus, popping and pressure in both my ears, as if I’ve just got off a plane, and it is getting worse every day. Moreover, I’ve started to feel eye pain if I have my glasses on. I’m shortsighted (-3 on both eyes) with astigmatism and need to wear glasses all the time. I remember feeling similar pain whenever I was getting used to new glasses… hovever I’ve had these for four years and I had already got used to them completely. The eye pain isn’t particularly strong but I feel so uncomfortable I cannot wear my glasses anymore. With my glasses off, I only feel the pressure in the ears, face and some jaw pain.
Looking up the cause for such symptoms on the internet has only increased my fear since I found brain tumor, increased intracranial pressure with blindness risks and similar catastrophic predictions. Neck stiffness or neck spine problems was possibly the most optimistic cause behind this kind of problems. Has anybody experienced similar symptoms? I’m getting really afraid.

Should I be worried, go to the emergency room?

I’ve had a couple of afflictions for the past 2 weeks:
-Headaches, feeling of something being stuck in left side of throat
-Body aches
-Fluttering feeling in lower left abdomen, and sometimes whole abdomen. Sometimes pain.
-Irritated ears and tinnitus
-Feelings of weakness

Note: These symptoms are worse at night, and the appearance of these symptoms coincided with a an onset of strong anxiety. I have been getting less sleep because of the anxiety. Some appeared with a bad cold this Sunday Also, just recently these aches have been accompanied by sharp piercing pains in random parts of my body.

RE: Nasopharynx Cancer (URGENT)?

According to a local medical report, symptoms of Nasopharynx Cancer includes Tinnitus (ringing sound in the ear).

However, from my knowledge, Tinnitus can also be caused by the ear being used to loud music, and the "ringing" comes when the ear hears silence (i.e. in a quiet room).

I’m getting it a little mixed up, could the Tinnitus that I have be the latter?

P.S. Medical check-up is costly and I wouldn’t wanna do it if it isn’t essential.

Please advise.

First, thanks for your time:-)

The thing is :
My university opened a new gym in January, and that’s when I started running on these new treadmills made by "xx" company.
This model of treadmill has a color screen in front of the runner that shows workout information and a simulated image of running tracks.
I have been running 5-10kms regularly (approx 3 times a week) on these machines ever since January (the gym opens). And compare to the white wall in front of me, I found the color screen more interesting to look at. Since this screen is set to be at lower than my eye level (I’m 176mm), so I automatically adjust my position while running to look @ it constantly.

Now Im facing a permanent cervical spine damage due to this bad habit.(my chiropractor agrees with this statement)
This damage brings horrible symptoms such as insomnia, tinnitus (ringing sound in my ears), neck/back/shoulder pains, excessive fatigue(the worst)

I believe what I did (looking @ the screen) was out of human nature. I also believe the screen was set @ a lower level is a product failure. Giving that there’s no instructions or warning signs on these treadmills for such issue, is it reasonable for me to sue this company to get compensation for this damage? Giving the large size of the treadmill manufacturer, there must be other runners who will face the same problem. I also think I should do this to help eliminate the potential damage on other people.

Now, what do you think?
Thank you for your answer!

I have a history of diabetic retinopathy, i already had a surgery few months ago. it caused me to have blurriness in my eyes, so somehow, i cant diagnose blurriness as one of the symptoms im having now. just this morning, i felt dizzy, i suddenly got out of bed, and felt the whole world is turning so i sat down and a little while, i still feel the same way. Iv been like this for the a day or two. I dont have any other symptoms, no ear sounds (tinnitus). but i do have a little high blood pressure. last time i checked it was around 130+/90+. just few minutes ago, i feel something ticking on the back of my neck, i am not sure whether this is a symptom of high blood pressure, what do i need to do? Pls give me some good advices. thank you.

I developed tinnitus in my right ear back in September. I saw four doctors but never got a diagnosis. All my tests were good, the only thing they didn’t do was an MRI. My hearing is normal. The tinnitus is really bothering me, though, and I’m at a loss. My other symptoms are:

Sinus tightnes/stuffiness on the same side
My jaw pops on that side when I open my mouth wide or move my jaw around
Occasional dull ache in that ear, feels like it’s radiating from the jaw as well
My neck pops a lot and I have always had tension headaches
Throat gets sore sometimes on that side
Soemtimes feels like a weird head cold on the tinnitus side of my head
tinnitus varies in loudness throughout day, other symptoms are worse when tinnitus is worse
Weird, mild unsteady feeling at times

what is wrong with me? please help.?

i hear a low released pressure sound in my ears and tinnitus symptoms. sometime i think the sounds like "heeey" , "denice", also like different noises and sounds coming from different areas!! my boyfriend says i’m superstitous.. and that i’m not skitzofrenic, i even talked to a phsycologist and she says the same!! but i feel fearful, anxious and very emotional about this and losing out on alot of sleep. Plus, today i found out i have a bladder infection, so i did get two kinds of antibiotics to take for 10 days. opinions please, thanx.

Basically, I’m wondering if it’s possible for a person to have the condition and have a clear MRI / CT Scan.

A 17 year old young lady, with over 14 cafe au lait spots, severe vertigo, constant tinnitus, vision problems and irregular headaches has had all these issues arise within the last three years. The sysmptoms have been becoming increasingly troublesome. No diagnosis has been found.

One of my friends with NF heard and was outraged that the doctors had just shrugged the possibility of the girl having NF. The main reason was that two year old CT scans and an MRI had come back clean and that the cafe au lait spots are rather pale.

Can the tumors be missed on CT Scan? Can they develop after symptoms are observed?

((Unless you find a article directly about this, please no copy/pasting from online… I can do that myself, thank you.))
