Tinnitus Symptoms Archives

Please help! Strange symptoms!?

For almost a year I have been having pulsatile tinnitus on my left ear, visual disturbances, strong pulsing in my upper body, lightheadedness and irregular heartbeats. The lightheadedness is so bad, I kind of feel as If I am in a dream sometimes…it’s scary. The pulsing is so strong that when I am lying down I feel my body moving a bit along with every pulse.These symptoms are 24/7! I also get extremely dizzy and can not see for a few seconds when I stand up too quickly and there is extreme pressure on my chest when that happens.

I am 19 years old. I am overweight and I used to have high cholesterol but I got that under control. I have had blood work but everything came out normal. My blood pressure is normal. I’ve had an EKG, Echocardiogram, MRI w/ and w/o contrast of my brain, CT scan w/ and w/o contrast of my temporal bones and inner ears, 24 hour holter monitor and Carotid Artery Doppler.

Everything came out just fine except for the holter monitor which showed I had irregular heartbeats but I knew that already.

I am worried it might be something with my circulation or narrowing in either an artery or vein in my chest that is preventing my heart to give my brain enough blood flow.

Please help!!!

NO RUDE ANSWERS! AND I KNOW "GO TO THE DOCTOR" I AM GOING TO ONE THAT IS HOW I AM GETTING ALL THESE TESTS DONE BUT I JUST WANT SOME IDEAS OF WHAT IT COULD BE OR TO KNOW IF SOMEONE HAS GONE THROUGH SOMETHING SIMILAR.

Let me start of by saying I’m 19 years old. I’ve been in a band for about 3 years and I’ve exposed me ears to extremely loud noise without plugs or anything to protect them and I believe I developed Tinnitus about 2 years ago. I had a slight ringing sound with a bit of buzzing but it was always tolerable, usually i would just put some music on and forget about it. Recently it’s been getting worse so I started wearing ear plugs and it seemed to be keeping things the way they were. I have the ringing in both ears. A few days ago I was playing the music without the ear plugs and the ringing seemed to get worse. Though the last few months I’ve been getting dizzy spells (vertigo if you will) and i didn’t think much of it. I started feeling nauseous to the point where I would want to vomit but I haven’t yet. I feel off balance throughout the day. My ears also feel full as if I couldn’t pop them but I really have no problem with that. The ringing seems to intensify sometimes and I also pick up a lot of sharp sounds in my ears that wouldn’t have bothered me before. After doing some research I came across meniere’s disease which pretty much backs up all of my symptoms. The only discouraging part is that I’m so young and this usually effects adults in their 30’s and up. Im not ruling this out a single bit but I wanted to know if anybody out there is suffering from the same symptoms or even has meniere’s disease and maybe tell me hoe to keep the ringing to a tolerable level. I have a hard time sleeping, thats when the ringing seems to be at it’s worst. I cut Sodium out of my diet as of yesterday and I’m waiting to see if it shows any positive results. The earliest I can get in to see my doctor is March 3rd (a little over 2 weeks from today) and I’m hoping i can deal with it until then. I’ve read that they do have surgeries to help with this and I would very much so consider it due to my young age. I’m hoping things will resolve on it’s own but only time can tell. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? Medications or just helpful information I couldn’t find on a website? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Tinnitus From Loud Music or noise?

People with Tinnitus from Loud Music or noise. Does the pitch of your tinnitus change when you bite your teeth down, does it change when you listen to music get louder, Or does it stay the same exact tone no matter what is going on.

I belive I have TMJ tinnitus But I havent been to a doctor yet, im trying to find out if this research on the internet is true, or if I have a different disorder..

Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) syndrome:
This jaw disorder may cause tinnitus and is characterized by many
symptoms, including headaches, earaches, tenderness of the jaw
muscles, dull facial pain, jaw noises, the jaw locking open, and pain
while chewing.
The Sternocleidomastoideus muscle connects on your sternum
by the collar bone on both sides and goes back to the back
of the ear. It’s about 6-10 inches long and when it gets
tight, it can pull on the TMJ area thereby creating a pull
on the muscles and ligaments around the inner ear area.
Almost certainly the final "pull" is the sphenomandibular
ligament which connects the ear drum and TMJ. An osteopath
can work with this. Xanax or other benzo’s can provide
tension relief as well. The masseter and temporalis muscles
(those in front of the ear and above the ear can cause the
same TMJ/tinnitus problems. If a person wants to know if
their tinnitus is connected to their TMJ in some way, have
them 1) clench their teeth- does it change the tinnitus? 2)
push in hard on the jaw with your palm. Does the tinnitus
change? (Get louder/softer, pitch or tone change) 3) Push in
on the forehead with your hand hard. Resist with the head.
Any changes? In about half the people I talk to, they find a
TMJ correlation they never even dreamed of…

Is this research True, or is my tinnitus from loud music?
This is what is up, one night I heard a loud roaring in my ears, then the tinnitus begun. When i bite my jaw it makes the tinnitus louder, or when I put pressure on my teeth. When I listen to music treble sounds distorted and it makes the tinnitus worse. Does anyone know a way to fix this from home or do you have to see a specialist, and are you sure this is not from sound induced trama.

I am having a bunch of symptoms and no one seems able to tell me what’s wrong or what kind of specialist I may need to see. I have had skin problems, hair falling out, salty tasting skin and this morning I woke up really dizzy and lightheaded. I also have tinnitus which has gotten a bit worse. Also about 1 month ago, my hands started "falling asleep" ar night while I slept. This happens off and on in my sleep, but it wakes me up when it does happen. I am a divorced, mom of a 13 year old girl and I have TONS of stress in my life. I can’t afford to go from Dr. to Dr. in search of an answer, but i am getting concerned about my health. I am the only one around that my daughter has to take care of her, Her dad died about 5 years ago. I am on thyroid meds and that has taken care of some symptoms, but others are continuing to go on and I dan’t know what to do and I am scared!! Does anyone know what might be happening to me or what kind of Dr. I need to see?

What do these symptoms indicate?

I’ve had a couple of afflictions for the past 2 weeks:
-Headaches, feeling of something being stuck in left side of throat
-Body aches
-Fluttering feeling in lower left abdomen, and sometimes whole abdomen. Sometimes pain.
-Irritated ears and tinnitus
-Feelings of weakness

Note: These symptoms are worse at night, and the appearance of these symptoms coincided with a an onset of strong anxiety. I have been getting less sleep because of the anxiety. Some appeared with a bad cold this Sunday Also, just recently these aches have been accompanied by sharp piercing pains in random parts of my body.

I’ve noticed some odd symptoms for the past few months now that have been bothering me. everyone insists its nothing and it might be but I’m a pretty anxious person and can’t see a doctor for a few more weeks so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Ok so the main thing is that I’ve noticed these fasciculations of my left eye. They come and go but are pretty annoying. These same twitches now seem to be happening randomly on different parts of my body, just for a second at a time. I feel like this has been happening for a while but it seems to be more so now. I’ve also noticed fatigue lately, I’ve been getting enough sleep but I’m still tired. I get some headaches that come and go but those seem normal enough, they only other odd thing is a rushing, pulsating tinnitus in my ear. I have a ringing tinnitus in both ears always (probably from my iPod or concerts) but in my left ear I notice if I get up or lay down quickly i feel a rushing sound that pulsates with my heart beat for about 10-15 seconds then stops. Some of these symptoms have been happening for months, they haven’t seemed to get worse but this eye and random body twitching on top of everything else is what has me a little spooked. Any information at all would be great, thanks a lot.

What should I do about these symptoms?

Well I wasn’t feeling well so I started looking up symptoms I have. I found I have multiple signs of anemia. I really don’t think I have it and I sure don’t want to have it but I don’t know what to do.
heres a check list of all the symptoms and what I do and don’t have

* Fatigue ✔

* Weakness ✔ (i think that may be because I’m lazy)

* Fainting

* Breathlessness ✔

* Heart palpitations (rapid or irregular beating) ✔

* Dizziness ✔

* Headache ✔

* Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) (what does tinnitus mean? I do have a ringing in my ear but I’m not sure if its *tinnitus*

* Difficulty sleeping ✔ (EVERY SINGLE NIGHT)

* Difficulty concentrating ✔

Common signs include:

* Pale complexion ✔ (I’ve been told, though I’m not sure)

* The normally red lining of the mouth and eyelids fades in color (I don’t know)

* Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia An abnormally rapid heart rate, usually defined as a rate greater than 100 beats per minute. An abnormally rapid heart rate, usually defined as a rate greater than 100 beats per minute. ) (I’m not sure)

* Abnormal menstruation (either absence of periods or increased bleeding) ✔ (Past few)

I really don’t think I have it but I don’t know. I don’t want to waist my mom’s time
lol I’m 13 and HAPPILY AND PROUDLY a virgin

ever since I started having loud tinnitus and vertigo I’ve had trouble sleeping. I’ve been getting increasingly stressed out. what kind of conditions/symptoms can persistent lack of sleep cause? what should I watch out for? what’s the safest option to help get back to a normal sleeping routine?

I have noise in my ear that is always loud and when I exercise it gets really loud and anytime I do physical activity it starts to just thump and I get a headache. Could this be a sign of something more serious than simple swooshing in ears. I went to the doctor and he said my hearing is fine and so I am getting a MRI, but I am scared. Could this be something serious? I am only 16 years old and this just started happening like 2 months ago.

Tinnitus and Pressure build up in one ear?

I have had tinnitus for about 2 years, and my ENT is not sure what may have caused it. When I go in for hearing tests, the tests always state that my hearing has stayed the same, and that it is fine. However, I have also had the constant feeling of pressure in my ear, and I cannot relieve it. When the pressure is at a maximum, so is my tinnitus. When I go see my ENT he says that he cannot find an explanation for it, but said he may recommend an MRI. I was wondering if anyone knew what could cause these two symptoms together, and what can be done to help them.
