I have tinnitus right now and have had it for a few days. I have had a cold for about a week and have scuba dived six times. I have tinnitus right now, a high pitched ringing in my ears that sounds like that high pitched tv noise when you turn it on that only young people can hear. I am only 18. I have not been exposed to loud noises or anything. When will this go away? What do you think caused it? My mom thinks it is from putting a lot of pressure on my ears because of the cold and then equalizing my ears by blowing under water, so she says it was double the pressure on the ears and she thinks that is what did it. what do you think?

hi i think i have TMJ sometimes when i brush my teeth I get this bad spasm on my jaw..it travels from teh end of my jaw to my chin area, and i also have bad tinnitus… can this be the cause? also when i bite down hard i can hear the loud buzz in my ear the tinnitus gets bad when i chew hard any ideas to help this?

It wont stop. Maybe about anywhere from 15 – 30 seconds, i get a short ringing noise in my ear. Its so short, its about a half of a second. Its the most…annoying thing ever, and it wont stop. Im pretty sure its not tinnitus cause of how short the ringing is. What do i do? Thanks

Can a pmiple in the ear cause tinnitus?. i had a pimple thing around thanksgiving and it popped with lil blood, than i had ear pain for that night and it went away….now around dec 27 or 28. i was layin down and expericed a static noise in my ear and seemed nausea and a unreal feeling which lead to a panic attack cause i have anixety. now since than my ears been ringing for about 5-7days now. and its only the right ear were that pimple was around thanksgiving. it reminds me of a static sound or low ringing. at night its alot worse. my ears feel clogged but only the right is ringing, some nasal congestion. plz help im very scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i havent had any dizziness or that since that eposide when it started and no pain

I’m 16 years old and i think i have tinnitus. I went to the doctor a few days earlier before i had this annoying sound in my ear, for my fever. They gave me antibiotics and drops for my ear that had fluid coming out . What is causing this annoying sound? I heard that antibiotics causes side effects or a ear infection can cause it. I went back to the doctor and they said everything should be fine when my infection is gone. But i feel sooooooooooooooo helpless. I don’t think it will go away cuz it has not improve at all. Does have any suggestions of how to cope with it or cure possibley. And is likely to go away when my my infection is gone.

I have tinnitus. It’s only a very mild form – I hear a quiet ringing in my right ear, but only when the rest of the room is silent. So it’s not a big issue unless I’m trying to get to sleep, or concentrate in a really quiet situation.

Here’s my question.

Does it ever go away?

And does it actually affect my hearing?
– if I had a hearing test would I be classed as ‘worse’ at hearing, or is tinnitus simply an annoying nervous disposition that has no effect on my actual ability to hear things, but causes my brain to interpret signals that aren’t there?

and to those of you who say its incurable and lasts forever… yes I believe you, but I had tinnitus a bit worse a while ago and it eventually faded away. then came back again haha.
just to remind you all AGAIN. it really isn’t that bad. I was just interested. I can hear it when Im trying to sleep, but even then it fades away every now and again while I start to ponder about things, as you do while youre trying to sleep.

hi guys.. well first off, im 16 and I need help I don’t know what i have…

iv had anxiety and depression for the past 2 months because of a friend passing away..
I’m fine now i feel fine and happy.. but then out of nowhere I get this ringing in my ear! I’m not sure if its tinnitus but it scares me, for example, I’m talking to my family or friends having a conversation then the ringing comes I cant hear them anymore only this annoying ringing/beeping noise in my ear its pretty loud and it causes me to get scared "lightheaded" dizzy and my heart starts beating fast because I’m freaked out of the ringing. It comes and goes it lasts about 1minute sometimes more sometimes less… Iv gone to the doctor iv told them about it iv talked to my psychologist but they haven’t told me anything yet! I’m so tired of it and I want it to go away!! they have given me medication for my anxiety I don’t think I have it anymore because I’m not sad or anything I feel normal happy and act it.. but then that ringing comes and kinda panics me PLEASE HELP!? any opinions, ideas, suggestions, or anything i would really appreciate it thank you!

Possible causes:
TMJ (had for years, but no ringing);
2 loud concerts in lifetime (some ringing afterwards but it never stuck around);
1 Rifle gunshot (6months ago, most stress on ear overall)
Stress, although tinnitus persists even when relaxed
*Recent Tetanus Shot??? Anyone know if tinnitus is a side effect??

Went to ENT: Results are:::
-Normal blood pressure,
-No hearing loss,
-No hearing damage (tiny haris)
-No fluid/pressure build up
*after that the ENT suggested that there’s probably no need for MRI or CAT scan since everything checked out fine.

I am at a loss, I don’t know why I have tinnitus, but my best guess is the gunshot, since that put the most stress on my ear out of everything.

But will it heal and will the tinnitus go away? Has anyones ever gone away?

My ENT offered some prescription: He said he doesn’t know if it will help or not but there is a chance. He said there’s a lot of side effects though, and it would be like trading one problem for another, but i think i can do without ringing in the ears in trade for a little bit of "dry mouth"

Should I go to a regular family doctor just to get double checked???
Should I try to find something that will help it go away?

Or should I just try and "live" with it, which the more i think about the more i become depressed and stressed

I’m sleeping in a small bedroom which have a lot of fresh water fish medicine(i put all the medicine in a big container but i can still smell the chemical !) and i rear some fish in my room. I supply the oxygen pump to my aquarium in my room.Is that the bubble poops sound cause me to get tinnitus???
