can tinnitus or ringing in ears be normal?

i was just wondering. i have for a tinnitus for a while, but it seems like it is getting worse.
and i was also wondering if anybody doesn’t have slight ringing in their ears.

Some tinnitus is totally normal, contrary to what people on here are saying. Everyone gets ringing in their ears once in a while, but it usually only lasts a minute or so. Prolonged tinnitus is indictive of hearing loss… Think about how badly your ears ring after you go to a concert. Possible causes…. Do you happen to have an iPod or an mp3 player with ear buds? Totally bad for your ears. It actually destroys the little tiny hairs in your ear that conduct sound, even if you listen to music at a normal level through them. Do you happen to work in a factory, construction or other loud environment? If so, this may be the cause. Like I said, prolonged tinnitus is not normal, so you really should go see a doc about the problem.
no it is not normal. don’t know how old you are, but you should really see a doctor about this. It could lead to some serious hearing problems if not looked after. My sister had to happen to her years ago and did not seek medical help and now has hearing problem.

usually it can be because you’ve been listening to loud music etc.
Try turning on the radio or soft sounds while you fall asleep (waves on the beach) and it might help

I experience tinnitus on a daily basis, but with no changes in my hearing, and it’s normal for me.
For some, tinnitus is a warning symptom… or it was triggered by consuming too much salt or caffine… for me (and possibly for some) I think it’s just my brain making up for lack of sound when it’s really quiet in the room and my brain isn’t used to the quiet.
