First visit your medical practitioner to get a proper diagnosis.
There is no definitive answer and unfortunately there is no quick fix solution either. If the tinnitus noises continue and are troublesome you need to seek tinnitus relief by learning more about the condition and getting started on your own tinnitus relief therapy.
You may have to be patient but could find signs of relief within days.

Tinnitus is hearing ringing, buzzing, or other sounds without an external cause. Patients may experience tinnitus in one or both ears or in the head.
The causes of subjective tinnitus include:
impacted ear wax
ear infections
hardening of the structures of the inner ear
hearing loss related to age
prolonged exposure to excessive noise
ototoxic medications, including aspirin, quinine, some diuretics, heavy metals, alcohol, and certain antibiotics
Ménière’s syndrome
head trauma
systemic diseases, including syphilis, hypertension, anemia, or hypothyroidism
tumors of the ear
The question is not so much what causes tinnitus as more ‘what makes the tinnitus persist’.
If the energy-flow in the body goes smooth, then all dis-ease subsides easily. The energy does not flow well in the body because of mental/emotional attitudes.
We can help the energy flow through meditation, jin shin jyutsu, or other techniques, but we always need to let go of our attitudes in order to completely get rid of the problem, whether it be tinnitus, headache, a heart-attack, a broken bone, artritris, name it. This process is know as knowing yourself. It’s not new. Buddha was one of the people that teaches us about it, but nowadays many ‘new’ methods exist to help to know ourselves better. Still it’s often not an easy way to go (let go).
If you want to know a little more about how Jin Shin Jyutsu helps in treating tinnitus, I have written a piece of text on a facebook forum about tinnitus :

It’s one of the last articles (from Jurgen Dumont).
Hope this can set you on a healing path.
All the best
its a very irritating problem, not something very serious but due to the non-stop ringing you will be troubled.usually its caused by severe ear infections or recurrent infections.it doesnt have a proper treatment and sometimes it can become permanent.some people have it for a few days and then it goes away while others experience it entire life without a treatment.
