i have slight hearing loss in my right ear due to going shooting with my dad and not wearing ear protection ( we only shot 2 shots of a .308) my hearing was slightly impaired for a few days after but my left ear has fully healed. i have tinnitus in my right ear and only slight hearing loss i can hear people talking perfectly fine only quite very soft sounds i cant hear out of my right ear.. is this enough to make me fail a hearing test administered by the marines? there for denying my entry?

I was just wondering……..?

I have a doctors appointment today because I had a relapse in panic attacks/agoraphobia. I think my tinnitus (constant and very loud) triggered it, and my hearing aids were broken.

I was feeling normal for months until this week. I am on the maximum dose of Paxil, but my doctor is hesitant to prescribe me any anxiety medication. I don’t want to be dependent on meds either, but it would be good to have on hand in emergency

What other treatments are there? Anything I can suggest? How can I get my doctor to understand how painful my panic attacks are?

Long story short:

5 years ago my ex boyfriend punched my face in my car after a night out. I lost my four front teeth, had a punctured ear drum, and now have panick attacks and tinnitus. My doctor did tell me i have these symptoms becuase of the attacks.

It went to court and he pleaded not guilty but the case kept getting posponed. In the end the judge threw the case out becuase there we’re no witnessess, even though there were two police men who saw me after the attack bleeding. The judge said that they both couldnt come for various personal reasons, which i found quite strange.

Ive always thought that maybe my ex boyfriend had got away with what he did becuase he is very wealthy and well respected, he used to be a part of the local conservative party ( im from the UK)

I just want to know do you think i should try to sue him again or bring any court action, is it worth it and possible?

thanks x

What really is the main cause of tinnitus?

any cure fr this? aside from a doctor

If you could include a link with this it would be appreciated. If not, just a yes or no. I want to know basically over the last 10 years if it is on the increase.

Will tinnitus ever have a cure?!?!?

My father has been dealing with a ringing in his ear for a long time and believes it’s from stress. He also gets a lot of headaches. He’s visited doctors but they all tell him the same thing!…that there’s nothing wrong with it. He’s fed up with the doctors and doesn’t want to see another one. He’s heard about Neem Oil to help but is not sure about it. What can we do about his situation, to make the ringing stop!?

noise in my right ear and hearing loss?

Yesterday I noticed that my right ear felt full, almost stopped up. About an hour later it started ringing, and when someone talks, or when hearing something on tv, there is a high pitch noise. I have pretty bad sinus problems, and I thought maybe my ears were backed up, but would that cause tinnitus? Or could I have an ear infection? My right ear also hurts throughout the day on and off. Please help. Thanks.

natural tinnitus cures – does it really work?

Finally doing something about a possibly impacted wisdom tooth that’s caused me problems for over 2 years now.

I’d like to know a few things if anyone can help, bear with the long description of my situation.

No actual pain in the tooth itself, just the gum surrounding the partially erupted tooth. The wisdom teeth in my upper jaw have came in flawlessly, no problems whatsoever … except for the havoc raining down from one.

Top left wisdom tooth is so jagged & sharp it’s constantly jabbing down on the lower left wisdom tooth & the surrounding gum’s, irritating my gums & causing them to swell. Usually the swelling & pain would go away with the proper care (a mix of saltwater gargles & using mouthwash, also I find a tea made from white sage leaves helps reduce inflammation some). Well it’s happened again, only this time worse. A larger area of gum-line is now effected, accompanied by a sore throat & slightly swollen lymph nodes under the jawline on the outer left side of my neck ( just under the swollen areas in my mouth ), no fever. Impossible for me to eat just about anything and very hard to open and close my mouth all the way or stick my tongue out. I can tell the lower left tooth is probably impacted, I see the molar just in front of it is raised significantly as if the wisdom tooth was slowly pulling the tooth in front of it outward, so needless to say I will be asking to have it extracted and may ask to have the top tooth shaved a little to help prevent anymore gum irritation.

Been dealing with the pain & swelling since Tuesday Oct 21 & finally got an appointment for Tuesday Oct 28, I hate to wait that long especially since it could be infected but I’ll take what I can get.

Now for the question part lol:

What, other than gargling with warm saltwater, are some good home treatments to help keep the swelling & pain at bay until I see the dentist?

Is an extraction my best method for solving this problem once & for all or are there alternatives?

I might get prescribed antibiotics since I’m pretty sure this is an infection, so what are the kinds of antibiotics prescribed for such conditions? What are the names of the typical antibiotics given for gum/mouth/throat/tooth infections?

I have some recent gastrointestinal problems resulting in weight loss & improper nutrient absorption & I take probiotics 2-3 times daily either in the form of yogurt, a probiotic cereal, and/or lactobacillus acidophilus supplements (13.3mg or 2 billion cultures) to help, I’m sure I’ll need to up the dosage when taking antibiotics.

When would be the proper time to take probiotics? A few hours before or after antibiotics? Should I take the antibiotics and probiotics with or without food? How long would I need to be on antibiotics before surgery? Is taking antibiotics recommended for someone like me who already has some GI problems?

I’ve had tinnitus in my left ear for over 10 years & a recently a bout with severe vertigo that left me incapacitated exhausted & starved for a week, I hear that the local anesthetic administered before oral surgery can actually cause tinnitus.

Does anyone know if this is true? Would this irritate my problem ear further?

After vertigo, I don’t want to risk using an anesthetic that would irritate my ear more & cause another bout of vertigo, although I am aware that this possible infection could surely do the same thing if it spreads.

Would I be prescribed any post-operative painkillers? If so, I’d like to know what kind of medication is usually prescribed after a wisdom tooth extraction?

Sorry again for the overly descriptive "questions" but I’ve been worried of this, any advice, tips, or personal experience is greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Namasté!

I was in a car accident when I was 5, about 10 years ago. I had slight trauma of the head and had to get staples, but that was the end of it for a few months. I’ve had these feelings almost of vertigo and tinnitus mixed with other symptoms. My ears ring, my vision goes about 90% dark, my head feels heavy, and my brain feels as if it’s on fire. I lose my balance and sometimes can topple completely over if I’m not by a wall or something to support myself on. I lose my sense of memory for about 5-10 seconds, and it all just ends with a headache. I just want some help before I have to spend money on a doctor, seeing as it’s insanely expensive.
