For the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with tinnitus in my right ear, vision problems, and occasional shakiness (though usually after I drink, so I don’t know if it’s related). The vision problems are like having a "head rush" and usually do occur after I do forward bends and such in dance class, but occasionally happen without any change in movement. I’ve also been having sharp pains at the back/side of my head which happen for a few seconds then go away, though sometimes they repeat several times a day. Any idea what this could be? I thought it might be because my prescription seems to be out of date, but they happen when I’m not wearing glasses too…

I went to a rock concert on 7/1. It is officially 7/5 now and my ears are still mildly ringing.
I did not wear ear plugs, and I know that was a stupid idea.
Small venue. I was in the very front row, leaning up against the stage. The concert lasted 2.5 hours and the second band that played was obscenely loud.
When the concert was over, everything sounded like it was underwater, my ears were popping a lot, and of course there was loud ringing. When I went to bed that night, I heard strange crackling too.
Right now, the volume of the ring is low, but it’s there. If one turns on the TV and listens to the high pitch sound it makes when it turns on, that is what I’m experiencing at a lower volume. It comes and goes and is prominently in my left ear. Also, I feel as if my ears need to pop a lot.
I am attending another concert soon, but have taken responsible action and have invested in some good ear plugs.
Is one rock concert enough to cause tinnitus? Or does the condition involve a more prolonged exposure?? How long should I expect this ringing to go on for?

Don’t worry it doesn’t really bother me. It’s like a low hissing noise i can easily ignore.

About a month and a half ago I was shooting guns with no ear protection. Ever since then I have had a mild case of Tittitus. I dont even notice it really at all during the day the only time I notice it is at night when it is more quiet and still its not that bad I have gotten used to it already. Now I want to join the Navy I go to take the ASVAB in a month. When Im done with that and it gets to the physicals part will I be able to pass a hearing exam with this Tinnitus? I have no hearing loss from it I can talk with my cell phone on low and on high and hear just fine. The only thing that worries me is the room is quiet and doesnt the machine generate the same ring sound that most people hear constantly with Tinnitus? If anyone has Tinnitus and has been through this can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Im 15 and I’ve been wanting to be a pilot in the air force since I was like 4. My whole family has been in the military, and now its my turn (which is not a burdon I do not wan’t, I am dying to join the Air Force.) Anyways, One of my friends (about 3-4 months ago) slapped me across the head, and my ear has been ringing since. I went to a doctor like a week after, they said I had tinnitus. I haven’t been to a specialist yet, im going soon. I was wondering if I can still be a pilot in the Air Force if I have Tinnitus (left ear only). I plan on going to the Air Force Academy if I am Good Enough, and being a pilot is the only thing for me. I don’t see how something like a slap on the ear can impair my ability to do something, for life. Any response would be helpful. Pretty worried here. If you know any ways to end PHYSICALLY CAUSED tinnitus, please tel me. Im willing to do anything, and I’m not giving up on my dream.

I’ve had problems with my jaw for several years, and I think orthodontia made them even worse. Now my bite is so misshapen that my head may as well be in a vice; the pressure on my ears has given me chronic tinnitus, and it gets worse along with the jaw tension. What can I do to re-shape my jaw and get rid of the terrible ringing? I really hope surgery isn’t the only option, because I certainly can’t afford it in the first place.
