i have been told i have pulsating tinnitus and i read somewhere that it is to do with a low thyroid count.does anyone know about this?

Hello everyone. Can anyone give me any information on tinnitus. My mom was diagnosed with it about a yr ago.At the time it was not so bad and since her doctor told her it is something that she will just have to learn to live with my mom never seeked any treatment. However recently I have noticed that her symptoms are getting worse. She seems to be loosing her hearing and can hardly keep focus. She does not want to admit it but I can tell it is taking control of her life. I hate to see my mom suffer like this. Anyone have any advice or information on what she can do. She doesnt have medical insurance but I am planning on making an appt for her. Thank you much.

I started getting tinnitus on wednesday and I was concerned it was because I had been listening to music too loud. I went to my local GP today and the doctor told me that both of my eardrums are red. He has has given me 1 week’s worth of "Amoxicillin" which will supposedly get rid of the infection. Will my Tinnitus continue after the infection has died down, despite the fact that the Tinnitus was casued by an infection and not by exposure to loud music?

i have tinnitus and have gotten use to it but it would be nice to have it lessened.

About 3-5 years ago someone clapped their hands on my ears and after that there was a slight ringing in my left ear.

I’ve always felt i’ve got tinnitus, but people have told me that ‘It’s hard to get to sleep and to concentrate’ with it, but i can sleep and concentrate fine. It’s only annoyed me over the past few days as i have known it’s there more. Its like a quite hi pitch sound. but i can hear fine.

Does anything else cause this kind of symptoms? as my ears have recently become waxier ( yes i clean them, but ive noticed more wax if you get me)
Could it be that?

Also, when i cover my ears up, i can hear the ringing still, but if i rub my ears, and then stop, i can’t hear the ringing for about 2 seconds and then it comes back.

Has there been any advance in the treatment of tinnitus? I have been told that there is no treatment available but wonder if there is any promising on-going research.
