And if so, once the sinus infection is over, does the Tinnitus go back to normal? Or does it stay worsened?

I have posted a better description of my condition on the forums in my reference below but here it is in a nutshell:
I just can’t get motivated much of the time. Basic tasks go undone. I find other things to do (or just do nothing).
This goes into all aspects of my life from basic things like cleaning up te apartment to major things that could actually be very beneficial to my financial situation.
There is also a physical symptom that worries me and may tie into the whole picture. I hear a constant hissing sound. Sometimes it is almost imperceptable and at other times it is quite loud. Kind of like tinnitus (spelling?) but not a ringing just a hiss.
Any ideas, or has anyone else had this type of experience?

I’ve been having an earache and ringing in my ears for a few months now. Dr gave me antibiotics and said take mucinex but it hasn’t helped.
Has anyone had this kind of problem long term? I’m wondering if it’s stress related?

My family is going to Japan next Tuesday for a week except me… for now.
I’m not sure whether I should go along.
I want to stay home and study because I will be having my A Levels next year (somewhat like AP and IB), and I haven’t been studying much this year as I dropped out of school for half a year due to some personal problems.
If I do not go on a vacation, I could stay home and study and go for my weekly therapy (maybe two times next week). But if I go on a vacation, my mother said that I could still bring my books along and stay in the hotel room and study on my own. But the thing is that I hate traveling, I have tinnitus I hate the high pressure in the plane and the noise, and my anxiety increases when I am in a foreign country, the unfamiliarity. So does it make sense to study in other country while my family are out? The thing is, if I do not go, my mother would be upset. I, on the other hand, am upset that she doesn’t seem to understand that I have to study.
I am not the type of teenager to likes to have fun and such. I am the introvert, thinking type. I hate going out, shopping and crowds. But I live in a tropical country and it would be nice to go somewhere cold for a while. I also think that my therapist would get angry if I skipped any session next week (I didn’t get to see her this week). I do not know exactly why I feel that way but when I told her that I do not want to go away, she said that she wanted to go. Would she be jealous, angry?
What are your thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi,
I am an 18 year old male, in good health. However, I have had chronic tinnitus (ringing in ears) for as long as I can remember. It isn’t severe, and it doesn’t bother me that much. I always remember having it, and I actually used to think it was normal for everyone (found out otherwise via the internet). I have perfect hearing despite this mild chronic tinnitus.
As tinnitus is not a condition in itself, but a symptom, I wonder exactly what is causing it. I saw an ENT, and he didn’t seem worried about me as I have fine hearing an no other known medical conditions.
Should I still be worried about having some underlying condition causing tinnitus, or should I not worry as I’m 18 and I’ve been fine all of these years?
