The doctors told me there is no cure for tinnitus and I would have to live with it! How can anyone live with these awful ringing noises in their ears? Is there some treatment available somewhere?

I have been taking aound 900 mgs each month for migraines for over 10 years.

Now during the last year I have noticed I am getting Tinnitis and it is getting worse.
I have a hard time sleeping at night even with 2 noisy fans running.
The metallic ringing sounds come from 2 and sometimes 3 diferent areas of my head. And gets louder if I move my head sise to side. It drives me crazy and If for some reasaon I am woke up during the night there is no way I can go back to sleep because the sound is so irritating.
I saw an Ear specialist and I have no ear wax build up and he could see no obvious cause for the sudden tinnitus.
I do have high cholesterol of 235
I was taking Welbutrin and Zonegram but stopped to see if it was the meds causing the tennitus but it wasn’t.
If it is the long term use of Imitrex (like asprin) is causing the tinnitus will stopping the med eventually cause it to go away or am I stuck with it forever?

His tinnitus has recently become worse and he has also suddenly lost the majority of his hearing in one ear. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It is just scary to watch my daughter struggling with the ringing noses in her ears! The tinnitus is not the worst though, as she find it hard to get her overall health is also starting to suffer. It seems to me that as she is so stressed and up tight, she can’t sleep for long and always seems to pick up virtually every infection that is doing the rounds. Is this be resulting from her tinnitus? Where can I get a tinnitus cure for her.

i often get a high pitched noise in my left ear but it comes and goes could this be tinnitus?

I have pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear. I have had this for nine months now. I have switched to a new Doctor and she said on the first visit that it may be caused from an AVM. I only know this has to do with blood vessels . I already have had a ct scan and Mri by previous doctor which were normal. I have no other symptoms. Can anyone explain?

I am 99.99999999% postive that i have tinnitus. I really think its subjective tinnitus though (only I can hear the ringing).

Tinnitus (tentin I tuss) is a condition caused by all sorts of things. mostly by loud objects for a long period of time.

My mom thinks im a "hypocondreact" just because i have found out that im not physicaly normal.
