I suspect that I have tinnitus. I have ringing in my ears very frequently and i realise that i’ve been listening to music at increasing vlumes since last year. when i play my instrument, my ears hurt and feel jarred at the high pitches.
I want to know if the symptoms & effects of tinnitus and whether it can be cured. but when i look at the existing questions here on yahoo answers, the answers are inconsistent. Some say that tinnitus can be cured, while some say that it can vary in volume but will never go away.
I need to know a definite answer cos i’m really worried.
My friend, infectted, has also asked about this on yahoo answers.
Can someone give a good answer cos i’m really worried for myself and for my friend.
thanks.

I have had tinnitus for at least 6-12 months, I have not been to a Dr.
I have a constant, high pitched noise in my left ear.
Is there anything that can be done about this?
I am looking for a realistic assesment, not just someone to tell me "go to a Dr."
I know I need to see a Dr., but is there any real treatment for this condition, or is it hopeless?

I’m 16 year old girl. I am always stressed out and I get panick attacks at night after watching horror movies. I get scared easily.
Recently I’ve been hearing noises/tune fragments ringing in my head once in a while. I DO NOT hear people speak and the sound is very weak. It just sounds like a person humming, or a frequency amplified. This happens especially at night before I sleep. and then I would get scared and my heart would beat faster.
Is this tinnitus?
How can I make it stop? Are there any psychological therapy, meditation or relaxation techniques? Thanks!

I have an infernal ringing in my ears. How do I get it to stop? I have already stopped use of headphones, both in-ear and over-ear. I have turned down all the sources of noise that I can, but it still goes on.

Western medicine/surgery has no solution for continous noice inside the ears, day and night. They say this ( tinnitus) has to be lived with!

I have recently discovered my tinnitus and it bothers me a lot. I have the type that sounds like it is coming from the center of my head. When I am in a quiet room it makes me dizzy hearing it, and it seems SO LOUD! But throughout the day I don’t notice it, it gets drowned out, but I know it is still there. Every time I go to my quiet room and listen to it it seems like it is worse than the day before, but I am not certain of this. Is this awful ringing in my head causing further damage? Also, I fear that this may be permanent and I’m afraid I may not be able to cope with it. Anyone relate to that?

for those of you who have tinnitus has it helped at all? I have ringing in my ears that wont go away and the doctor just told me it will go away eventually but it hasn’t as of yet and I suspect it wont so what do I do in the mean time?
circulation affects necrosis in a small manner interesting perhaps that’s why my doctor said it doesn’t work. I can see improving circulation but that wont make you younger..

Im tired of putting up with it. I tried and still use antihistimines to keep the eustation tubes clear. As my doc suggested I tried Niacin. Besides the raging burn and flush I got all over my chest and face, that did nothing.
I do not have the other symptoms that would indicate Menere’s disease. But the buzzing hiss still hangs with me after 2 years. If you had Tinnitus and found how to make it go away… I would love to know. Thanx
